SHS track results at Hamlin meet

Sweetwater High School's track teams competed at the Long Sleeve Relays in Hamlin to begin their season last Friday.
The SHS boys scored 52 points for a sixth place finish in their division. Individually, Isaiah McGee placed first in the long jump and second in the 200-meter dash; Deandre Gatson was third in the 100 dash and fourth in the triple jump; and Marquees Jenkins was fourth in the 100 dash. Also, the 400 relay composed of Jenkins, Gatson, Max Gomez and McGee was third and the 800 relay made up of Jenkins, McGee, Gomez and Xavier Jones was fourth. No individual times or distances were given to the Reporter.
For the SHS girls, Davina Walker placed third in the 100 dash (13.67); Lauren Jones was fifth in the 100 hurdles (19.06); and Amber Smith was fifth in the triple jump (27-9). In addition, Walker, Jones, Mickenzie Brownlow and Zanisha Williams ran on the 800 relay which had a time of 1:56.
The JV boys placed second in their division after scoring 89 1/2 points. Individually, Deshaun Williams was first in the high jump and long jump, third in the 100 dash and ran a leg on both the second-place 400 relay and the second-place 800 relay; Michael Green was second in the long jump, third in the 200 dash, fifth in the high jump and ran a leg on both relays; Jacoby Hunt was third in the long jump, fifth in the 100 dash and ran a leg on both relays; Daniel Camacho also ran a leg on both relays; Gabriel Salazar was third in the discus; Tristan Vasquez was third in the 800 run; Keegan Von Atzigen was fifth in the 800 run; and Garrett Davison was sixth in the 800 run. No times or distances were given.
