Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Sylvia T. Treviño, 75, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Charles Okonkwo will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Treviño died Sunday, June 30, west of Roscoe.
She was born May 4, 1938 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Treviño had worked for Walls Industries for many years and worked in home health as a caregiver. She was a graduate of Edinburg High School and moved to Roscoe in 1961. She enjoyed working with her flower garden and having her dogs. Treviño was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Ruben Treviño of Snyder; sisters, Janie Cruz of Edinburg and Hilda Ramirez of Edinburg; brothers, Andy Torres of Edinburg and Elano Torres of Edinburg; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugenio E. Treviño, Jr., on Nov. 29, 2001; three sisters; and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Treviño, Paul Treviño, Tony Lambaron, Joey Hernandez, Danny Ramos and Mario Gomez.
