Smoltz to be in Hermleigh at baseball field dedication

Former Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox pitcher amd current TBS sportscaster John Smoltz will make an appearance at Hermleigh High School on Saturday.

Former Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox pitcher amd current TBS sportscaster John Smoltz will make an appearance at Hermleigh High School on Saturday.
Smoltz will appear for the inauguration of the baseball field, and to speak to the Hermleigh Cardinals baseball and softball athletes and sign autographs.
Gates will open at 1:45 p.m. for the public to view the facilities.
At 2 p.m., Hermleigh ISD superintendent Gary Rotan will welcome and introduce Smoltz, who will sign auto-graphs from 2:15-2:45.
Smoltz is also helping to promote the installation of the first Carter TruHop synthetic turf baseball field.
Carter TruHop™ is Shaw Sportexe’s latest product innovation, a synthetic turf system specifically developed for baseball and endorsed by Smoltz, that the company calls the closest thing to natural grass for baseball fields of all levels.
Field construction was just completed by Carter Construction Company, a leading builder of athletic facilities in the state of Texas, which also installed a Shaw Carter 419 synthetic turf football field at Herm-leigh late last year.
Smoltz will appear for the inauguration of the baseball field, speak to the Hermleigh Cardinals baseball and softball athletes and sign autographs.
