Sweetwater Middle School boys basketball recaps

The Sweetwater Middle School seventh and eighth grade Red boys basketball teams won three of four games when they served as host teams for a one-day tournament Saturday.
Merkel and Wall provided the opposition for the event held at the Sweetwater Middle School gym.
The seventh grade Red team won both of its games, defeating Merkel 43-24 and Wall 49-27, and the eighth grade Red boys also beat Wall 30-13 following a 23-21 loss to Merkel.
In their win over Merkel, the seventh grade Red boys got 16 points from Kiante McCoy, nine from Michael Green, eight from Chris Thompson, seven by Kobe Clark and three by Mason Maxwell while against Wall, McCoy had 18, Green 12, Clark 10, Thompson seven and Isak Alvarez five.
The eighth grade boys Red team got 13 points from Hunter Mobley, nine from Jordan McGee, six by Javier Olguin and two from Payton Hill against Wall, while Mobley had seven, McGee six and Dylan Ausborn and Lowell Williams four in the first game against Merkel.
