SMS volleyball results

Two Sweetwater Middle School volleyball teams had second-place finishes recently at Colorado City’s weekend tournament.
Sweetwater’s eighth grade ‘B’ team downed Big Spring 25-19, 25-12 and Colorado City 25-20, 25-15 before lo-sing to Snyder 18-25, 25-23, 15-25 in its final match.
Lexi Kamer served a total of 20 points against Big Spring, 19 points against Colorado City and eight points against Snyder. Also, Sonia Sanchez served nine points against Big Spring and seven points against Snyder, Jacinda Garcia served eight points against Snyder, and Katelynn Pain-ter served a total of seven points against Big Spring and Snyder and six points against Colorado City.
Sweetwater’s seventh grade ‘B’ team defeated Big Spring 17-25, 25-18, 25-14 and Colorado City 25-22, 25-17 before losing to Sny-der 15-25, 15-25.
Kayleen Rudel served a total of 15 points against Big Spring and nine points vs. Colorado City; Xaveria Clark served 11 points vs. Colorado City, 10 points vs. Big Spring and nine points vs. Snyder; and Lexi Lara served a total of 10 points vs. Colorado City.
