Snow in Sweetwater!

February 2, 2014

The photo shown was taken at Sweetwater Country Club on Sunday morning by resident Jan Smith.

As predicted, snow fell early Sunday morning in Nolan County, covering the town in white on Groundhog Day. A few residents and former residents had some input on Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of six more weeks of winter and the snowfall in town.
Adrian Mendez said, "I'm ready for spring!"
"There is a old wives tale that if it thunders in February, there will be a frost in April on that same day! Think this is as predictable as the groundhog, but either way I'm waiting to plant my spring flowers until April 4!" said Laura Gilbert.
Jessica Von Grim said, "He's a groundhog, not a meteorologist. I'm sure the weather will continue to change like it has been the past two weeks."
Marie Carter said, "Durn little critter! Hope he's wrong but I'm afraid he's not!"
Scharles Kelley said, "I would say he is right on this winter!"
