You won't have to look too far beyond the city limits for some excitement this weekend â€” there will be "Something for Everyone" at the 2014 Nolan County Fair.
The festivities will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Nolan County Coliseum. A lamb show sponsored by Texas Best Show Series will be held both days in the covered arena.
Several events are lined up for Saturday, such as the Nolan County Cruisers Car Show. The cars will be stationed in front of the Coliseum.
A Mud Bog will also be held on Saturday, with registration taking place from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The first round will start at 1 p.m., and there is 100% payback.
Tires allowed are street (33â€ť and under), super street (34â€ť-36â€ť), modified (36.5â€ť-39.5â€ť) and open (40â€ť and larger). Blowers and nitrous are prohibited.

Terry's Ice Cream will also be sponsoring a Homemade Ice Cream Making Contest on Saturday as part of the fair festivities.
It will be held in the Coliseum foyer starting at 1 p.m. Divisions include vanilla, chocolate, fruit and exotic flavors, with prizes given in all four divisions.
And on Saturday night, Great White will be in concert at the Coliseum. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
