Spikers are at S-Angelo tourney after dropping match at Seminole
The Sweetwater High School volleyball team began action at the Nita Vannoy Memorial Tourna-ment in San Angelo today after losing at Seminole in its most recent match this past Tuesday.Sweetwater comes into the two-day tournament with a 6-5 overall record after falling to Seminole in four highly-competitive games Tuesday. The Lady Mustangs — who had also lost to Seminole in four games when the teams met in Sweetwater a week earlier — won the first game 25-19, but Seminole came back to win the last three games by nail-biting scores 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22 in claiming the match.Kendra Crosson led the team in kills against Semi-nole with nine and also had nine digs and an ace, while Kathleen Campbell had eight kills and five blocks and Kelsi Crosson had five kills, eight digs, one ace and one kill assist. Suede Shirley had 24 assists, five kills, two digs and three aces; and Shelby Cason had five kills, two blocks and two digs. Angela Garza had a team-high 12 digs, while Mikki Reschman had nine digs and Janell Walker had four digs.
