August 27, 2013

Sweetwater High School’s volleyball team plays a dual match at Graham today after splitting its six games at a tournament in San Angelo over the weekend.
Sweetwater (6-10) had just one win in Friday’s pool play, but got bracket wins Saturday over Odessa High (25-22, 25-11) and Bronte (25-20, 25-15).
Sweetwater’s pool victory over Palo Duro came between losses to Fabens and Monahans. After being placed in the Bronze Divi-sion bracket Saturday, the Lady Mustangs began with a loss to Greenwood before rebounding with a pair of victories to end the tournament and take bracket consolation honors.
Today at 5 p.m., Sweet-water begins its dual match at Graham by facing a Brec-kenridge team it played at the Bev Ball Classic in Abil-ene on Aug. 17, followed at 6:30 p.m. by a match against Graham. After today, the team’s next action isn’t until Sept. 3 vs. Colorado City. Sweetwater hosts Lamesa one week later.
