May 28, 2011

Connor Stafford

Connor Stafford of Sweet-water and Caden Smith of Roscoe will participate in the 12th annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Myrle Greathouse All-Star Classic football game this Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. at Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium.
Stafford was chosen for the game as a tight end and wide receiver, while Smith was chosen as a quarterback, outside linebacker and kicker/punter. They will play for the North squad, which is coached by Quinn Conley of Baird. Stafford and Smith are among 139 area student athletes — 115 players and 24 cheerleaders — selected for the North and South squads for the game. All proceeds will go to benefit the Big Country FCA chapter. The athletes, who represent approximately 50 area schools in Class 1A through 5A, will report for two-a-day workouts June 1.
