Stangs go for 10th win

Although the wins have come against Class 1A and 2A competition, the Sweet-water boys basketball team is on a roll with four wins in its last five games.
The Mustangs, now 9-12, go for their 10th win today when they entertain Ballin-ger starting with the fresh-man game at 5 p.m.
Sweetwater is trying to build momentum as it pre-pares to start District 5-3A action Jan. 13. After today, the Mustangs go to Class 4A San Angelo Lake View next Tuesday and start district three days later when they host defending champion Abilene Wylie, which is currently ranked No. 21 in the state in Class 3A.
On Tuesday, Sweetwater beat Roby 64-39 with Kaleb Hoover scoring a team-high 14 points. The Sweetwater girls, who are idle today but will start district Tuesday, won 55-25 as Suede Shirley scored 14 points and Kinsey Browning nine for the Lady Mustangs.
