The Storybook Theatre visited the County-City Library on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. The group performed The New Little Red Riding Hood, a classic story that emphasizes the importance of character traits with a splash of environmental awareness.
This is the second year for the group to perform in Sweetwater. Last year's show was Two Pigs and T.H.E. Wolf. The Storybook Theatre is on the approved roster of artists with the Texas Commission on the Arts.
The performance was made possible by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, which covers 50% of the cost. Library Tag Day money is used to cover the rest of the fees. The County-City Library has gone in with the Scurry County Library and the Mitchell County Library to share expenses.
This is the second year that the County-City Library has received this grant. Mila Gibson, a resident of Sweetwater, is a Commissioner on the Texas Commission on the Arts Board.
