Students compete in Spelling Bee

Over 100 Sweetwater students ranging in grades 4 through 8 competed in the local spelling bees recently held at their respective campuses.
Andrew Ramey was the winner of the Spelling Bee held at Sweetwater Intermediate School (SIS). The fifth grader enjoys reading and playing video games.
The second place winner was fourth grader Kaden Andrews. The competition held at SIS was coordinated by Melissa Howard.
Kara Lehnert won the Spelling Bee held at Sweetwater Middle School (SMS). The seventh grader, who competed at last year's national spelling bee, enjoys reading and sports.
Seventh grader Kaci Webb was the second place winner. Julie Cypert is the Spelling Bee coordinator at SMS.
Ramey and Lehnert will now represent Sweetwater at the Odessa-American Regional Spelling Bee, which will be held on Feb. 22, at Odessa College's Deadrick Auditorium.
