Trey Harvey and Stanley Castillo also had some good runs and the offensive line of Mark Ruiz, Kevin Thompson, Zack Garcia, Chris Coons and Ryan Lujan blocked well up front. The defense stopped a two-point play and Mark McCann recovered a fumble. “The team played hard and well. It’s just that mistakes hurt us,” said coach Al Hunt. We are proud of the way the kids played this season. Michael Lawrence had an 85-yard kickoff return for another score and Michael Hunt was 3-for-3 on extra points. Defensive standouts were Gomez, J’Corey Amos and Max Nemir with interceptions and Kristopher Warner, whose goal line fumble recovery prevented a Brownwood score going to halftime and preserved an 8-6 lead.at SweetwaterBrownwood 24, 8th White 16Austin Kamer had two TDs, both followed by two-point passes from Isaiah Gonzales to Adan Sanchez.at BrownwoodBrownwood 40, 7th Red 8Jacoby Hunt had a 30-yard TD run and two-point conversion, and Daniel Olguin caught a pass from Jordan McGee. Hunt had a fumble recovery and tackle for a loss while Olguin, Matt Figueroa (pass interception), Junior Lawhon (quarter-back sacks and tackle for loss), Isaac Aguilar and Colter Reed were also defensive standouts for Sweetwater Red against Brownwood.
