SW gets another shot at title today vs. Wylie

Wylie will be Sweetwater’s opponent in today’s 7 p.m. Junior League (ages 13-14) losers bracket final played at Wylie’s Kirby Park.
The winner of today’s contest plays for the title at the same location Thursday, also beginning at 7 p.m., against Abilene South — which beat Sweetwater 6-5 to reach the title game when the teams met in the semi-finals on Monday.
Because they are in the losers bracket, today’s winner must beat Abilene South twice in order to claim the District 5 title. A second game will be played Friday — also starting at 7 p.m. at Wylie — if necessary. Wylie routed Abilene North, 15-4, on Tuesday to advance.
Also today, losers bracket finals games will be played in the Little League (11-12) and 9-10 year-old age divi-sions at the Abilene Dixie and Abilene North parks, respectively. The title games will also be played Thursday in both divisions, with a second game if necessary to be played at the same locations on Friday.
