SW gets key road win

GREENWOOD — The Sweetwater volleyball team helped its playoff chances on Friday by winning its District 4-3A match at Mid-land Greenwood in four highly-competitive games.
The Lady Mustangs (3-4 in district, 12-19) outlasted Greenwood 27-25, 26-24, 26-28, 25-18.
Sweetwater, which has three games remaining in the season, solidified its bid for the No. 4 and final district playoff berth and got help from Big Spring, which beat Snyder (1-6) on Friday. Greenwood is last at 0-7.
Sweetwater goes to first-place Wylie (7-0) on Tues-day, then hosts Big Spring (5-2) on Friday before end-ing the season Oct. 29 by hosting Snyder.
Shaneese Brown had a team-high 17 kills, while Aly Heredia and Maddie Jones had 13 and 12 assists, res-pectively. Morgan Gomez finished with a team-high 18 digs, while Mikki Resch-mana served up a team-best four aces on Friday for the Lady Mustangs.
