The Lady Mustangs and Mustangs go to Snyder today for a key District 4-3A basketball doubleheader.

Sweetwater will be taking on a pair of desperate teams when the Lady Mustangs and Mustangs go to Snyder for a key District 4-3A bas-ketball doubleheader today.
While the Sweetwater and Snyder boys are both 0-1 in district play, Sweetwater’s girls — who will tip off the doubleheader at 6:15 p.m. — are 2-1 while Snyder is off to an 0-3 start. The Lady Mustangs need a win to stay on the heels of 4-3A co-leaders Wylie and Green-wod, both 3-0, who have an early showdown in Green-wood today.
Sweetwater split Friday’s doubleheader at home with Monahans. The Lady Mustangs won, 53-24, be-hind Kendra Crosson’s 24-point effort. But the Mustangs were 63-43 losers to Monahans in their opener despite Kaleb Hoover’s team-high 15 points.
In District 13-A, Div. II, Roscoe and Highland meet in Roscoe today for their first of two district doubleheader contests between the Nolan County schools.
The girls will tip off their game about 6:30, followed by the boys contest at 8.
Both the Highland girls and boys are unbeaten in district play so far, and the 3-0 girls lead Roscoe and Ira — both 2-1 — by a game. The boys, who are off to a 1-0 start in District 13-A, are tied with Ira and Herm-leigh for first place while the Roscoe boys are off to an 0-1 start.
Blackwell’s teams play a doubleheader in District 14-A with Veribest tonight in Blackwell. The girls (0-7) are coming off a 75-17 loss to Water Valley while the Blackwell boys lost 74-21 to Water Valley on Friday.
