SW summer sports camp schedule

A Lady Mustang Bas-ketball Camp will be held June 3-6 at the middle school gym on 305 Lamar Street. The camp is for students who have completed grades 2-8. Camp sessions will be from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $35 which in-cludes a T-shirt. Pre-regis-tration is appreciated.
A concession stand will be available. The camp’s goal is to improve players’ skills through instruction in individual skills and fun team competitions.
A Mustang Basketball Camp will be held June 3-6 at the high school gym with two sessions. Students completing grades 3-5 will attend from 9-11 a.m. each day, while the students who completed grades 6-8 will attend from 1-3 p.m. daily. The cost of the camp is $30. Each camper must sign a release form and show proof of insurance. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt. Water will be provided, but each camper can bring a sports drink if they choose to do so. Checks should be made payable to coach Al Hunt.
A Lady Mustang Soft-ball Camp will be held June 4-7 at the Jerry Collins Softball Complex for students who have completed grades K-8. Camp sessions will be from 5-8 p.m. except on the final day, when it will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $35. Campers should be pre-registered.
The camp will instruct students in fielding, throwing and hitting drills. Send the camp fee and form to: Tony Heredia, 1515 Josephine St., Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
Sweetwater High School and Jared Sliger will present two volleyball camps this summer at the SHS gym.
The high school camp is set for June 10-14 with a cost of $180. Camp times will be 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. for the first four days, and 8-11 a.m. on the final day of the camp. The junior high camp is set for June 10-13 with a cost of $90. The camp times will be 3-6 p.m. for all four days.
Also planned is a coaches clinic June 11 from 7-9 p.m. at a cost of $35.
Each of the camps will focus on the fundamentals of volleyball in addition to teaching strategies for im-proving one’s overall game. Each camper will receive cutting edge volleyball in-struction by blending skill improvement with team play. The camps will push any player at any skill level to improve.
Both camps will be limited to the first 50 campers and the registration deadline is Friday, May 31.

A Mustang Tennis Camp will be held June 17-21 at the Sweetwater Middle School tennis courts for students entering grades 3-9.
Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon each day. The cost is $30 without getting a camp T-shirt and $40 with a camp T-shirt.
Students should be pre-registered by June 10 in order for them to receive a T-shirt.
A Mustang Baseball Camp will be held June 17-20 at the SHS baseball field (Sportsman’s Park).
The first session for stu-dents entering grades 1-5 will be from 9-10:15 a.m. each day while the second session for students enter-ing grade 6-9 will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Walkups will be accepted on the day of the camp. The cost is $40, which includes a T-shirt. In case of inclement weather, the camp may be moved indoors, but go to Sportsman’s Park for directions. A Mustang Football Camp will be held July 22-25 at Mustang Bowl from 7:30-10:30 a.m. daily for students entering grades 3-9.
The cost of the camp is $30, and all campers will receive individual instruc-tion from members of the Mustang coaching staff.
The camp will place emphasis on skills and drills and will also have both punt, pass and kick instruction and competitions. There will also be refreshments, T-shirts and certificates.
