Sweetwater, Fabens will play in Crane

Sweetwater and Fabens will meet in a Class 3A bi-district volleyball playoff at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Crane High School, according to Sweetwater head volleyball coach Liz Miller.
Sweetwater qualified for the playoffs as the fourth-place team in District 4-3A after Wednesday’s season-ending four-game win over Snyder at Mustang Gym.
Shaneese Brown had 14 kills and Kayla Chowning 11 for the Lady Mustangs, who are 13-21 overall and finished with a 4-6 record in district. Aly Heredia, who had 29 assists, and Morgan Gomez, who had 26 digs, were Sweetwater’s other team leaders. Maddie Berry had five kills and eight digs; Ziggy Collins had four kills and six digs; and Kensi Chowning and Mikeilah Foust had four kills as well. Mikki Reschman had nine digs and Heredia six, while Maddie Jones had six assists and four aces.
