Sweetwater remembers all of its veterans

November 11, 2010

Roscoe American Legion Post #227

The Roscoe American Legion Post #227 honored veterans with a full breakfast. Local recruiter, Raymond Medellin was the guest speaker. According to Donnie Willman, the breakfast is important to bring all veterans together. “Their service is the reason that we have our freedom,” Willman said. Bill Talbert continued to say, being a prisoner of war is tough, but there is nothing worse than a country that doesn’t have the pride or the freedom to remember their veterans. Pictured above, in no particular order, are Donnie Willman, Jim Tollison, Monte Hale, Billy Weems, Roy Willman, Bill Talbert, Raymond Medellin, Larry Maners, Beverly Maners, Acey Hurm, Jerry Piedzsch, Keith Willman, Steven Alcala, Phil Strother and Paul McDonald.
