Sweetwater, Roscoe powerlifters go to regional meets this weekend

A total of 17 powerlifters — 14 from Sweetwater and another three from Roscoe — will represent Nolan County at Region I boys meets that are being held in Sundown this weekend.

A total of 17 powerlifters — 14 from Sweetwater and another three from Roscoe — will represent Nolan County at Region I boys meets that are being held in Sundown this weekend.
Sweetwater’s boys com-peting in the Division 2 meet today are Jay Lomas, Bray Amos, Johnathan Browning, Donald Baker, Austin Marlett, Ryan Line-baugh, Sam Nemir, Alex Garcia, Anthony Palacios, Kyle Lambert, Kendall Rea, Mateo Gonzales, Chase Saunders and Angel Cabal-lero. Nemir and Linebaugh advanced to state by finish-ing 1-2 in the region in the 165-pound class a year ago, but Nemir has moved up to the 181-pound class and currently ranks first, while Linebaugh ranks first in the 165-pound class. Garcia and Gonzales rank second in the 198-pound and 242-pound classes, respectively.
Roscoe’s three boys com-petitors in the Division 3 meet Saturday are Corey Hatcher, Landon Jones and Jose Rangel.
