Sweetwater, Snyder try again today

The Sweetwater volleyball team will try again today to advance to end a five-year playoff drought.
Sweetwater — bidding for the No. 4 spot in District 4-3A — was to host Snyder in Tuesday evening’s season finale at Mustang Gym. But a schedule mixup involving the officials for the match caused the teams to cancel and reschedule the varsity match for 6:30 p.m. today at Mustang Gym. The JV and freshman games for Sweetwater and Snyder on Tuesday were played, but replacement officials for the varsity match could not be found, resulting in the 24-hour delay.
Sweetwater leads Snyder by a game for the No. 4 playoff spot and a win puts them in the playoffs for the first time since 2008. But if Snyder wins, the teams will meet again later this week to break the tie.
