Funeral services for Tanjua K. Clapper, 56, of Sweetwater will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Chris Stephens will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Clapper died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1957, in Sweetwater. She married Mel Clapper on July 12, 1996 in Sweetwater.
Tanjua had lived in Sweetwater all her life. She worked 28 years for Ludlum Measurements. Tanjua was a woman of strong faith and loved her Lord. She loved gardening and her two puppies, Winkie and Foxy. She also loved shopping with her daughter, spending time with her daughter, spending time with her granddaughters and entertaining her family.
Survivors include her husband, Mel Clapper of Sweetwater; daughter, Angel Hillis and husband Keaton of Three Rivers, Texas; granddaughters, Kelcee Hillis, Katy Hillis, Keely Hillis, all of Three Rivers, Texas; sister, Carla Dent of Sweetwater; brothers, Burnie Bell of San Angelo and Gordon Bell of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Allen, Cris Winn, Gene Neeper, Rex Alston, Sam McCleaf and Gary Gibson.
