TEA announces district awards

Sweetwater ISD

Texas Education Agency recently announced its 2010 District Gold Performance Acknowledgement Awards. The awards are as follows:
• Sweetwater ISD: (1) Recognized District; Social Studies-Commended Performance
• Sweetwater High School: (1) Academically Acceptable Campus; Social Studies-Commended Performance
• Sweetwater Middle School: (2) Recognized Campus; Writing-Commended Performance; Social Studies-Commended Performance
• East Ridge Elementary: (2) Exemplary Campus; Reading/English Language Arts – Commended Performance; Mathematics - Commended Performance
• Sweetwater Intermediate School: (2) Exemplary Campus; Mathematics – Commended Performance; Science – Commended Performance
• Southeast Elementary: (2) Exemplary Campus; Reading/English Language Arts – Commended Performance; Mathematics – Commended Performance
• Hobbs Alternative Ed Co-op: AEA; Academically Acceptable Campus
The Gold Performance Acknowledgment (GPA) system acknowledges districts and campuses for high performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings. The percent of students earning a commended score must be a minimum of 30% (formerly 25%) in all subgroups for each academic area to earn this award.
