Team heads to Super Bowl

Sweetwater’s Junior PeeWee football team will play for the Super Bowl title at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Wylie’s Bulldog Stadium against the Wylie White team. Sweetwater reached the championship game by beating the Abilene Bucs 37-0 in the quarterfinals, and then the Abilene Redskins 19-13 in the semifinals. The public is urged to come show its support. Team members are (in no particular order) Daiman Atkins, Joel Guia, Zach Garza, Kamren Fisher, J.R. Martinez, Marques Jones, Jonathan Sanchez, Damion Rosas, Sebastian Gonzales, Payton Presley, Joe Angel Reyna, Kei Griffin, Ayden Rosas, Darian Carr, Zane Espinoza, Skyler Painter, Kaleb McCoy, Braxton Gomez and Andres Neri. Coaches are Harry Rotan, Chris Garza, Michael Sanchez and Cullen Presley. Not pictured are players Ricky Delapaz, Chris Littles and Patrick Hutson.
