Teen dies in Nolan County crash

One person was killed and four were injured in a one vehicle crash that happened around 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in Nolan County on U.S. Highway 84, 3/10 of a mile southeast of Mile Marker 436 in Nolan County.
Scott Michael Hiney, 17, was driving a 2004 Volvo southbound on U.S. Highway 84. The vehicle left the roadway into the center median. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go into a side skid and overturn. The three unrestrained occupants were ejected. The weather was clear/cloudy and the roadway was dry.
Sigfrid L. Credo, 18, from Mesquite, Texas was a passenger in the vehicle. Credo was taken to Hendrick Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m. by Doctor Greenwood. His body was taken to the Hendrick Medical Center Morgue. The next of kin have been notified. Credo was not wearing a seat belt.
Scott Michael Hiney, 17, from Mesquite, Texas, driver of the Volvo, was taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater. Hiney was wearing a seat belt.
Roald Louis Credo, 18, from Mesquite, Texas, was taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater. Credo was wearing a seat belt.
Travis Wayne Tarlton, 17, from Mesquite, Texas, was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Tarlton was not wearing a seat belt.
Brandon Stewart, 18, from Mesquite, Texas was taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater. Stewart was not wearing a seat belt.
This crash is under investigation by Trooper Robert Scott Reagan.
