Texas economic development issues addressed in Austin

Shown from left to right are Ken Becker, Executive Director of Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED); Lorie Vincent; Executive Director of The High Ground of Texas and Chairperson of the Texas Economic Development Council and Carlton Schwab, President/CEO of the Texas Economic Development Council. The three were in Austin recently visiting with Senators and House of Representatives and their staffs concerning economic development issues in Texas. Those issues included the following: 1.) Protect the Economic Development Sales Tax; 2.) Make the Texas Economic Development Act Permanent; 3.) Maintain Funding for the Texas Enterprise Fund; 4.) Increased Funding for the Skills Development Fund; 5.) Maintain Funding for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund; 6.) Restore the R&D Tax Credit.
