Marcus and Bea Monroe, along with the M3 Palace Theater in Colorado City, are pleased to announce that the Texas Theatre II in Sweetwater is finally up and running. With the recent installation of air conditioning and heating, the Texas Theater is now open and showing movies, starting this Friday.
This weekend's shows include "Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" and "Paranormal Activity 2." The films will run throughout the weekend from Friday, Nov. 26 through Sunday Nov. 28.
"Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole," the children's film based on the popular selling children's books, is rated PG with a run time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It will be showing on both Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m.
The thriller "Paranormal Activity 2" will be showing on both Friday and Saturday nights at 9 p.m, and Sunday night at 7 p.m. The film has a run time of 1 hour and 31 minutes and is rated R.
Admission prices for the films are $6 for adults, $4.50 for children 12 and under, and children under 3 get in free.
More movies are slated to be released at the Texas Theatre II, including the kid-friendly films "Megamind" and "Tangled" and "Unstoppable" featuring Denzel Washington. Also, the first part to the finale of the Harry Potter franchise, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" is coming soon.
The Texas Theatre II also offers private showings for birthdays, groups, churches and day cares. As a reminder, please inform the theatre and reserve your private showing as soon as possible.
