Funeral services for Thaddie Eloise Buchanan, 88, of San Angelo and formerly of Nolan, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Billy Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Slater's Chapel Cemetery in Nolan under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Buchanan died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in San Angelo.
She was born March 26, 1922, in Wood County, Texas. She married Carson Buchanan Aug. 15, 1942, in Sweetwater. She was a homemaker and had lived in Nolan, Texas for 50 years before moving to San Angelo in 1993. She was a longtime member of Nolan Baptist Church and currently a member of Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church in San Angelo.
Survivors include one daughter, LaJuan Sparks and husband John of San Angelo; three sons, Gregory Buchanan and wife Rhonda of San Angelo, Grant Buchanan of San Angelo and Scott Buchanan and wife Annette of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Jason Buchanan and wife Crispin, Jennifer Nichols and husband Dink, Eric Sparks and wife Amy, Wade Sparks and wife Juani and Kaci Sparks; nine great-grandchildren, Josh, Madison, Stella, Luke, Emily, Samantha, Lily, Owen and Jack.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson on Oct. 11, 1980; a son, Randall; two sisters, and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Buchanan, Kenny Buchanan, Wade Sparks, Eric Sparks, Jason Buchanan and Dink Nichols.
