Three accidents within an hour

Sweetwater emergency services personnel responded two three different accidents within an hour on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, in the area.
According to Sweetwater Emergency Services Manager Grant Madden, one call came in around 3 p.m. about an accident near Palava in which a man was accidentally pinned between a truck and a wood pile. The man's leg was broken and he was flown to Abilene via helicopter.
Another call came in about a one-car rollover on Interstate 20 near the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The driver was transported to the hospital via ambulance with minor injuries. A helicopter was on stand-by at the scene.
Another call came in about a three-car accident on the corner of Broadway and Locust Streets (shown). One vehicle rear-ended a pick-up and the pick-up rear-ended an SUV, according to Madden.
There were no transports at the accident, but all three vehicles were damaged in the wreck.
