Three arrested on sealed indictments

On Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2011, Nolan County Sheriff’s Deputies served two of the 10 sealed indictments handed down by the grand jury on Tuesday. They were assisted by local Texas DPS Troopers.
Deputies went to 114 1/2 Fisher Street in Sweetwater and arrested three subjects.
• Jerry Dewitt Washington Jr., age 25 – charged with possession of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1 – namely cocaine), a State Jail Felony. His bond was set at $5,000.
• Jerry Lane Black, age 47 - charged with possession of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1 – namely cocaine), a State Jail Felony. His bond was set at $10,000.
In an unrelated arrest at the same location/time, Andrew Preston Staten, age 67 of 801 W. Avenue B in Sweetwater was arrested at the 114 1/2 Fisher house for a parole revocation warrant. He is being held without bond.
The arrests of Jerry Dewitt Washington, Jr. and Jerry Lane Black are in furtherance of the crack cocaine distribution operations that were busted in October of 2010.
