Three Lady Mustangs earn 5-3A recognition

Three Sweetwater High School girls basketball players have earned recognition on the all-District 5-3A squad for their outstanding play this past season.
Alicia Finn, a 5-11 junior post who was the Lady Mustangs’ leading scorer and rebounder in district play, earned first team honors while Taylor McKoy, a 5-8 senior post, was chosen to the second team.
Kinsey Browning, a 5-3 junior guard, received all-district honorable mention.
Wylie’s Peyton Little, who led her team to a district title and later to a Class 3A state title, was the district’s most valuable player and Brownwood’s Patricia Wilson was chosen defensive MVP. Hailey Brown of Wylie was the district’s newcomer of the year. Trinity Ansons and Sara Byrd of Brownwood, Natalie Davis and Kylie Jenkins of Wylie, Laura Reigh and Jacoree Brooks of Snyder and Cerbi Ritchey of Big Spring also made the first team. Sydnie Darden of Brownwood, Bridgette Tuitt of Big Spring, Jentri Driggers of Snyder and Brittany McPherson of Wylie were the other mem-bers of the second team.
