December 18, 2013

Three Sweetwater High School football players — receiver Bray Amos and defensive backs Kaleb Hoover and Isaiah McGee — earned big honors by receiving honorable mention to the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state football team released Tuesday.
All three players received first team all-district honors in 4-3A.
Amos, a 5-7 junior, caught 64 passes for 1,037 yards and 19 touchdowns this past season while Hoover and McGee had 100 and 98 tackles, respectively. Hoover had an interception return and McGee a fumble return for touchdowns.
Wylie defensive lineman Clay Johnston and Mona-hans punter Junior Morales were first team all-state while two other players — defensive lineman Kristian Crozier of Monahans and defensive back Shaiem Menefield of Big Spring — won second team honors.
Four other Big Spring players won honorable mention, plus one from Mon-ahans and Snyder. Devin Roberson of Big Spring was honored at both punter and defensive back.
