Toy drive raises donations for Goodfellows

A total of 412 toys were collected during the Sweetwater Goodfellows toy drive at Wal-Mart on Saturday that included many toys given from the second toy run. Also collected were donations in the amount of $100 from Debra Loven, $25 from Jessica Messersmith, $50 from Jeremy and Paige Wilks and another $517.23 in cash donations.
Distribution will be from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the Lamar Street Baptist Church recreation building with the Christmas party with Santa scheduled for 3:45 p.m. that day.
The goal of the Sweetwater Goodfellows is to provide food and toys to needy families with children and food to needy individuals in Nolan County during the Christmas season.
