Track meets slated in SW, Roscoe

Area track meets scheduled for Thursday, Friday

Numerous track athletes from the West Texas area will be in Nolan County to compete in one-day meets scheduled this week.
After an absence of a few years, Sweetwater will once again be hosting a meet with the return of the Rattlesnake Relays on Thursday, while Roscoe will again be hosting junior high and high school meets the next two days.
Junior high teams will participate in the Blackland-Divide meet on Thursday, with the high school athletes competing Friday in the varsity and JV meet.
The Rattlesnake Relays will have four divisions — varsity boys and girls and JV boys and girls.
The meet starts Thursday with field events at 3:45 p.m., with running finals set to begin no later than 5:45.
Roscoe’s meet Friday will begin with field events at 2:30 p.m. and the running finals will start at 5:30 p.m. Highland and Blackwell are also in the meet, which has divisions for varsity boys, JV boys and varsity girls and entries from 18 schools.
Snyder, San Angelo Cen-tral, Colorado City, Anson (except for JV girls) and Munday (varsity and JV boys only) are also entered in Sweetwater’s meet while Roscoe’s meet also includes Bronte, Cross Plains, Gar-den City, Hamlin, Hawley, Hermleigh, Ira, Jim Ned, Munday, Robert Lee, Roby, Rotan, Stamford, Trent and Winters.
