Train car catches fire

September 20, 2013

The Sweetwater Fire Department received a call on Thursday afternoon from a person driving a train.
The caller stated that smoke was coming out of the back car, the engine and that flames were shooting out the side of the train car. The train had stopped to change crews when the engine had shut off and the car that was on fire stopped over the Musgrove overpass.
Firefighters worked with engineers and company members to extinguish the blaze. Hydraulic oil caught the west bound train on fire.
