Around 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, a GMC Sierra four-door pick up truck wrecked into the emergency door in the front of the building at Brookshire's Grocery Store. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake when parking. Both front airbags were deployed and the driver sustained an injury to her right hand. Several police officers and ambulance personnel responded to the scene with Pickrell Wrecker Services also responding to tow the truck. A chip of brick wall came off of the store front and two bread racks belonging to Mrs. Baird's were damaged. No transports were made by Sweetwater emergency personnel.
