Truck wrecks, bursts into flames

According to eye witnesses, the truck burst into flames after coming to rest on the east side of the Hillsdale Road overpass yesterday in Sweetwater.

An 18-wheeler hauling metal shavings wrecked yesterday in Sweetwater causing major damage to the truck and causing a fire. One person was involved with the wreck. The driver sustained minor injuries according to Sweetwater Emergency Services Manager Grant Madden. According to eye witnesses, the truck burst into flames after coming to rest on the east side of the Hillsdale Road overpass. The driver may have been distracted, which caused him to veer off the road. The engine, transmission and rear axle of the truck were found between the bridges.
