This summer, the Sweetwater campus of TSTC (Texas State Technical College) West Texas, located at 300 Homer K. Taylor Drive, will be offering Microsoft Office Short Courses from June 24 until July 26. All of the courses will be offered in the Pevehouse Building in Room 210.
âWhether you currently work in an office environment that just upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010, or just want to learn the latest features of this software, the right kind of training is essential,â said course organizers. âAt TSTC West Texas, we offer a variety of courses on the latest version of this popular software package.â
The following courses available this summer are Word (basic or intermediate/advanced), Excel (basic or intermediate/advanced), PowerPoint (basic or advanced) and Publisher (basic or advanced). Each course will cost $120.
The Microsoft Word 2010 basic class will be held on Monday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 26 and is a six-hour morning course that covers the basic functions and features of Word 2010. After an introduction to Wordâs window components, students will learn how to use the Help system and navigate documents.
Then, they will enter and edit text, create and save documents and learn how to enhance the appearance of a document by using various formatting options. Participants will also create tables, headers and footers, proof and print documents and insert graphics.
The intermediate/advanced Microsoft Word 2010 course will be taught on Monday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 10 and is an eight-hour morning course that builds on the skills and concepts taught in Word 2010: Basic, First Look Edition. Students will work with styles, sections, and columns and will use the Navigation pane to work with outlines.
