Two entered pleas to Judge Glen Harrison during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011.
Pete Esquivel, Jr. pled true to revoking his probation. He was originally put on probation on Jan. 31, 2011, for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, stemming from an April 15, 2010 charge. For his plea, Esquivel received 12 months confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He will also have to pay a fine of $750, $384 in court costs $280 in restitution to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory in Abilene and $1,000 in court-appointed attorney's fees. He will receive 138 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.
Lateasha Denise Veal pled guilty to forgery, a state jail felony. For her plea, Veal received two year confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for five years. She will also have to pay a $1,500 fine, $343 in court costs, $1,598 in restitution and $500 in court-appointed attorney's fees. She will also have to serve 120 hours of community service.
