Two jailed after pleas

Guilty pleas entered during recent 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings

Two people were jailed after entering pleas to Judge Glen Harrison during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. District Attorney Ann Reed and Assistant District Attorney Barrett Thomas prosecuted the cases.
Brock Ethan Walker, along with his attorney, Kristen Postell, pled guilty to evading arrest with a vehicle, a third degree felony. For his plea, Walker received six years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He will also have to pay a $3,000 fine, $309 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees.
Walker also pled guilty to assault, the lesser included offense of burglary of a habitation, classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. For that plea, walker received 180 days in the Nolan County Jail. He will have to pay $309 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees for that offense. He will serve these sentences concurrently.
Eric Barnard Brown, along with his attorney Sam Mehaffey, pled guilty to assault, the lesser included offense of burglary of a habitation, classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. For his plea, Walker received 180 days in the Nolan County Jail. He will have to pay a $1,000 fine, $309 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees.
Brown also pled true to revoking his probation. He was originally put on probation on Dec. 19, 2011, for possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, a state jail felony. For his plea, Brown received 16 months confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He will have to pay a $1,000 fine, $384 in court costs and $1,000 in attorney's fees for that offense. He will serve these sentences concurrently.
