Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday around 1:23 a.m. on IH-20 at mile marker 238, two miles east of Roscoe in Nolan County.
Vehicles involved included a 2009 Ford four-door vehicle driven by Randy B. Blake III of Alamogordo, N.M. and a 2009 Volvo 18-wheeler, driven by Marsha Marie Bolin of Balch Springs.
Deceased were Randy, B. Blake, III, 34, a member of the United States Air Force and Vanessa Blake, 36, both of Alamogordo, N.M. They were both wearing their seat belts. The two both pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Tim Fambrough. Their bodies were taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater and next of kin were notified.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Volvo, driven by Bolin, was traveling westbound on Interstate 20. The Ford, driven by Blake, was taking the entrance ramp from US 84 onto I-20. The Ford was traveling at an unsafe speed to negotiate the curve on the entrance ramp. The Ford traveled in front of the Volvo. The Volvo then struck the Ford.
