Two SHS teams stay undefeated

Sweetwater High School’s freshman boys and JV girls basketball teams still have spotless season records after knocking off Brownwood teams here on Tuesday.
Sweetwater’s JV girls are 12-0 after their 41-26 win. Cierra Knox had 12 points, Shaneese Brown nine, Mad-die Jones eight, Jaya Atkins four, Lexi Castillo three, Bianca Castillo and Nisha Williams two and Abby McPherson one. Sweetwater led 9-2, 18-11 and 32-15 at the breaks.
Sweetwater’s freshman boys upped their record to 4-0 with a 24-20 victory. Michael Lawrence had six points while J’Corey Amos, Hardy Escobar, Mark Law-rence and Denzell Moore scored four and Alontae Heath two.
The freshman girls (6-3) also won, 38-27. Morgan Rudel had 23 points. Mar-issa Sanchez had six, Abby Garcia three, Mickenzie Brownlow and Caroline Guelker two and Ashley Parker and Kristi Ward one. But Sweetwater’s JV boys lost their game, 33-11. Mike McCoy scored five points while Michael Hazard had three, Joe Ruiz two and Deshaun Williams one.
