The Nolan County United Way (NCUW) is set to kick off their 2013-2014 campaign, "United We Are STRONG," this coming week, Sept. 23-27.
During that week, agency representatives and board members will be visiting with area businesses asking for their support as well as thanking the many loyal contributors that helped raise over $70,000 this past year.
NCUW supports nine local agencies that serve as a social safety net for residents of Nolan County, both young and old. Those agencies are Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, SNAP (Senior Nutrition Activities Program), Gateway Family Services, West Texas Children's Advocacy Center, Women's Resource Center, Cancer Services Network, Sweetwater BackPack Buddies and Big Country Medical Reserve Corp.
Agency representatives and NCUW volunteers are available to do staff presentations or can help with planning a business' internal campaign. For more information on how to pledge or volunteer, contact Executive Director Wendy Smartt at 235-9522 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"The success of the Nolan County United Way is dependent upon everyone doing their part and we believe that United we are Strong," said Smartt. "The services of the Nolan County United Way touch every age, race and economic level. The funding raised in Nolan County stays here and helps tackle the needs right here in our community. We are Sweetwater and Nolan County Strong!"
