One person died this morning after an 18-wheeler carrying Acme Brick Company cinder blocks and two pick-up trucks collided on Interstate 20, near the TA truck stop. Police said Michael Creek, 62, an Abilene truck driver, died after he lost control of his 18-wheeler when one of the vehicles in front of him rear-ended another vehicle. Creek’s truck then hit the cars and a guardrail before flipping. Sweetwater Emergency Services received the call about 5:15 a.m. about the crash. The other two drivers were transported to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Both patients suffered from fractures.
