V’ball teams pick up split vs. B-Spring

Sweetwater Lady Mustangs sub-varsity scores

Sweetwater got a split de-cision against Big Spring in sub-varsity District 5-3A volleyball action this past Friday at Mustang Gym.
The Sweetwater freshmen beat Big Spring 16-25, 25-21, 25-22 in their match, while Sweetwater’s junior varsity lost to Big Spring 21-25, 22-25.
For the freshmen, Carol-ine Brennan had five kills, Bailey Bernal three, Abby McPherson and Kala Wof-ford two and Zanisha Wil-liams one. Savanna Hall and Isabel Mendez had six digs and Brennan had three blocks. Wofford and Maddie Jones had four assists and Wofford and Williams had two digs. McPherson had two assists, and Corynn Martin had a block. For the JV, Sage Nelson had two kills while Mikki Reschman had seven digs, Karlee Murff and Megan Carney four and Nelson and Bri Painter three; Janell Walker had two assists and two digs; and Shaneese Brown had three assists and Destiny Osteen two. Whitnee Murff had one kill, and she and Zanesha Collins had the team’s other digs.
