Funeral services for Valene Kiker, 91, of Sweetwater, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, at First United Methodist Church in Roby with Rev. Jerry Moore and Rev. Kiefer Cauble officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30 at McCoy Funeral Home.
She died Friday, Dec. 28, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 8, 1921 in Old Glory. She married John David (Punk) Kiker in Roby. Valene had served as the Fisher County tax collector and had owned Valeneâ€™s Exercise Spa, living in Roby and Rotan most of her life until moving to Sweetwater 15 years ago. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Roby. Valene was an athlete and loved sports, especially basketball, as well as the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved to work in her yard with flowers and also enjoyed dancing, horseback riding and family celebrations.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharron Davis of Abilene and Becca Frierson and husband Tommy of Sweetwater; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; beloved in-laws Wanda Kiker of Roby, B.W. and Mildred Kiker of Odessa, Jimmy and Susan Kiker of Snyder and Corky Kiker of Mineral Wells; one niece, Sue Sessum Anderson of Seminole; and a close friend, Rozelle Caraway of Gorman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Punk) Kiker; her parents, Williams D. and Carra Sessum; four brothers, Bobby, H.D., Bearun and Euless Sessum; and her oldest daughter, Buelene.
Pallbearers will be Donald Kiker, Donnie Kiker, Dennis Kiker, Larry Kiker, Gregory Don Kiker and Jerry Paul Kiker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roby Cemetery Association.
