Services for Veldon Levon Jeter, 77, of Brownfield, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at the Brownfield Church of Christ with Bo Shero officiating. Burial will follow at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Levon passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 in Brownfield. He was born on Jan. 15, 1936 in Brownfield to Willis Winston and Ruby Lela Jeter. He attended Brownfield Schools and was a member of the Brownfield Church of Christ and Toastmasters organization. Levon married Veedajo Chisum on Nov. 4, 1955 in Brownfield. He was employed for 25 years at Pioneer Natural Gas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis Winston Jeter and Ruby Lela Jeter; and a grandson, James Daniel Jones.
Levon is survived by his wife, Veedajo Jeter of Brownfield; three sons, Lyle Dean Jeter of Sweetwater, Randy Wayne Jeter of Harlingen and Tracy Devon Jeter of Nolan; a daughter, Debra Lynn Mahoney of Sweetwater; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Powell of Burleson and two brothers, Leroy Jeter of Brownfield and Eugene Jeter of Gilmer.
