West Texas VA Health Care System

The West Texas VA Health Care System has increased transportation services available for Veterans in the 53,000 mile catchment area that lack reliable transportation or otherwise cannot get themselves to their scheduled appointments.
In addition to Veterans who qualify for VA medical benefits, the caregivers of Veterans are welcome to accompany the Veterans to their appointments on Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) vehicles. Veterans are encouraged to call as soon as they determine that they need transportation to their appointment by VTS. They may call toll free to 1-800-472-1365 ext. 7135 or 432-263-7361 ext 7135.
There is also a van available to Veterans going to the Big Spring VAMC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It picks up and drops off at McDonalds in Sweetwater on those days when coordinated in advance at 325-674-1328. For more Veterans information call Robert R. McBride the Nolan County Veterans Service Officer at 325-235-2214.
