Two men sentenced on indecency charges |

Four people entered guilty pleas to Judge Glen Harrison recently in 32nd Judicial Court. Timothy Scott Whittle, 23, was sentenced to 10 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division for indecency with a child by contact, a second degree felony, which allegedly happened Nov. 4, 2004. The victim was nine years of age at the time of the offense. Whittle also received a $1,000 fine and $655 in court costs. He will also have to register as a sex offender. Whittle received 217 days credit for jail time already served. Matthew David Williams, 20, received five years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division, suspended to five years probation, for indecency with a child by exposure, a third degree felony, which allegedly happened Oct. 14, 2007. The victim was 13 years of age at the time of the offense. Williams also received a $1,500 fine, $655 in court costs, $500 in attorney’s fees and 160 hours of community service. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
Amanda Faith Turner pled guilty to the offense of credit card abuse, a state jail felony. Turner used a Texas National Bank Visa card that was issued to Kristen Nelson without effective consent to use the card, with the intent to fraudulently obtain a benefit on Oct. 8, 2006. She received two years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-State Jail Division, suspended to three years of probation, 120 hours of community service, a $1,000 fine, $305 in court costs, a $500 attorney’s fee and restitution to several local businesses including $100.82 to Taylor Fuel, $221.41 to Wal-Mart, $20.00 to Murphy Fuel and $233.33 to Western Union. Juan Miguel Gonzalez pled guilty to the offense of theft of a firearm, a state jail felony. Gonzalez allegedly took a firearm belonging to Royce Wayne Mitchell without his permission Feb. 16, 2008 in Nolan County. He received two years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Jus-tice-State Jail Division, suspended to two years of probation, a $1,000 fine, $305 in court costs, $500 in attorney’s fees and 120 hours of community service. |
